This new community pediatric clinic was designed and built by request of the area county commissioner. The space was designed with patient safety as the primary concern and featured rounded edges, easily maintainable flooring and antimicrobial materials that reduce the spread of infection. The incorporated colors were specified for children and are proven to minimize stress and anxiety. These colors were found throughout the clinic and the twelve exam rooms, which focused on general and behavioral health. The clinic also had multiple shared workstations in various locations to alleviate nurse foot traffic and encourage collaboration. Access to natural light was also an important design element for the staff, patients and families in the waiting room.
