Due to our award winning work at Texas Children’s and St. Jude’s Hospitals, we were interviewed and selected for this large healthcare project. Working very closely with the new CEO of the hospital, we were charged with creating a child-friendly atmosphere based on the principles of family-orineted care. The design was to be appropriate for children of all ages and provide interactive distraction therapy to alleviate worry from patients and parents. Colorful materials brightened the hallways and public spaces. This design element continued into the clinics and patient rooms. At the hospital’s entrance, the great hall space was a collaboration with a local artist to create an animated sculpture that celebrates being a child in the two-storied atrium.
